This is sure to be an outstanding presentation. It's current.
It's fresh. It's critical. Feedback we've heard from other schools was
that the ADA's presentation was one of the best they have
seen in their district in years. It was also very well received during
Red
Ribbon Week in Roslyn.
Assistant District Attorney
Maureen McCormick
will be bringing the message about driving safety to
Manhasset. The Choices and Consequences
program is an interactive presentation for parents and their
high school juniors and/or seniors designed
to combat drunk, drugged and reckless driving. The District
Attorney's goal is to reduce injuries and deaths in this
most vulnerable age group. Traffic crashes are the number
one cause of death for young people between the ages of 15
and 24.
The 90 minute program is
based on a "reality TV" model that relies on real cases,
real evidence and real people from cases to break through
natural teenage invincibility to teach life-saving lessons.
The program is divided into 3 segments: information, a skit
and climaxing with defendant and/or victim speakers.
