CASA's Community Coordinator is a community outreach professional specializing in substance abuse prevention.

She implements research-based prevention programs within the school and the community.
 
She also reaches out to religious institutions, civic organizations, health professionals, and businesses
to galvanize community efforts to combat substance use among Manhasset’s young people.

The Community Coordinator provides:

• Attention to primary prevention undiluted by other responsibilities;

• Continuity over time to build on successes;

• Knowledge of resources to bring to Manhasset;

• Program assessment to determine what works and what doesn’t;

• Volunteer coordination to utilize effectively a revolving pool of volunteers in ongoing programs;

• Visibility in Manhasset to keep the issue in the public eye.
